Company Description
Coal of Africa Ltd. is engaged in the acquisition, exploration and development of thermal and metallurgical coal projects in South Africa. The company has three operating segments: Exploration, Development and Mining. The Exploration segment is involved in the search for resources suitable for commercial exploitation, and the determination of the technical feasibility and commercial viability of resources. The Development segment is engaged in establishing access to and commissioning facilities to extract, treat and transport production from the mineral reserve, and other preparations for commercial production. The Mining segment is involved in day to day activities of obtaining a saleable product from the mineral reserve on a commercial scale. Its projects include Vele Colliery, Makhado, Vuna/Zonnebloem, Holfontein, Woestalleen and Mooiplaats. Coal of Africa was founded on December 6, 1979 and is headquartered in Perth, Australia.
