The company's products are used to bone growth and the success rate of spinal fusions and to treat non-union fractures, external and internal fixation devices used in fracture repair, limb lengthening and bone reconstruction. Its products include bone cement and devices for removal of bone cement used to fix artificial implants. Orthofix International was founded on October 19, 1987 and is headquartered in Willemstad, Netherlands.
