Argo Group International Holdings Ltd. is an international underwriter of specialty insurance and reinsurance products in property and casualty markets. It provides primary and excess insurance, reinsurance products and tailored risk solutions for the managing general agency market. The company operates through four business segments: Excess and Surplus Lines, Commercial Specialty, International Specialty and Syndicate 1200. The Excess and Surplus Lines segment focuses on the risks that the standard market is unwilling to underwrite. This segment consists of two operating platforms: Colony Specialty and Argo Pro. The Colony Specialty platform underwrites property, primary casualty and excess/umbrella coverage for hard to place risks and/or distressed businesses through five divisions: Casualty, Transportation, Property, Contract and Environmental. It provides coverage to a broad group of commercial enterprises, including restaurants, contractors, day care centers, apartment complexes, condominium associations, manufacturers, distributors, and environmental consultants and contractors. The Argo Pro platform is comprised of three divisions: Allied Medical, Errors & Omissions, and Insight. The Allied Medical division targets medical facilities within the social services, miscellaneous healthcare, and long term care segments. The Errors & Omissions division targets insurance agents, lawyers, miscellaneous professions, employment practices and real estate related accounts. The Insight division offers coverage for architects and engineers, accountants and insurance agents. The Commercial Specialty segment provides property, casualty and surety coverage designed to meet the insurance needs of businesses within certain well-defined markets. The International Specialty segment consists of the following businesses: Argo Re, Argo Insurance - Casualty and Professional Lines, Argo Seguros, and ArgoGlobal SE. The Argo Re business focuses on underwriting property catastrophe excess of loss reinsurance for a relatively small number of cedents whose accounts are known by the division's underwriters. It also underwrites property per risk and pro rata reinsurance on a select basis. The Argo Insurance - Casualty and Professional Lines business provides excess layers of coverage for general and products liability, directors and officers' liability, errors and omissions liability, and employment practices liability for global clients. The Argo Seguros business provides a broad range of commercial property, casualty and specialty coverage in business areas, including marine and cargo, financial lines, and property and engineering. The ArgoGlobal SE business provides primary insurance, including professional lines and liability products throughout Europe. The Syndicate 1200 segment focuses on underwriting worldwide property, specialty and non-U.S. liability insurance under the Lloyd's of London global franchise. Argo Group International Holdings was founded on August 7, 2007 and is headquartered in Pembroke, Bermuda.
