GAIL (India) Ltd. operates as a natural gas transmission company, which engages in the production and distribution of natural gas. The Transmission Services segment, which includes Natural Gas and LPG, engages in the supply of natural gas. It also owns and operates pipelines for LPG transmission. The Natural Gas Trading segment engages in gas distribution services through its wholly owned subsidiaries. The Petrochemicals segment engages in manufacture and marketing of polymers Polypropylene, Linear Low Density Polyethylene and High Density Polyethylene from natural gas. The LPG and Other Liquid Hydrocarbons segment is engaged in marketing gas processing unit products, namely LPG, Propane, Pentane, Naphtha and by-products of polymer plant, namely MFO, Propylene and Hydrogenated C4 Mix. LPG is being sold exclusively to PSU oil marketing companies, while other products are sold directly to customers in retail segment. The Other Segment includes GAIL TEL, E&P, City Gas and Power Generation engages in communication services; exploration and production services and supply of natural gad for domestic use respectively. It was formerly known as Gas Authority of India Ltd. GAIL (India) was founded on August 16, 1984 and is headquartered in New Delhi, India.
