The company operates its business through the following segments: Corporate Banking, Personal Banking, Treasury Operations, Investment Banking, Insurance, and Others. The Corporate Banking segment offers services to corporate customers, government authorities, and financial institutions such as current accounts, deposits, overdrafts, loans, custody, trade related products and other credit facilities, foreign currency, and derivative products. The Personal Banking segment provides services to retail customers such as current accounts, savings, deposits, investment savings products, credit and debit cards, consumer loans, and mortgages. The Treasury Operations segment deals in foreign exchange transactions, customer-based interest rate and foreign exchange derivative transactions, money market transactions, proprietary trading, and asset and liability management. The Investment Banking segment includes debt and equity underwriting and financial advisory, sales and trading of securities, stock brokerage, investment research and asset management services, and private equity investment services. The Insurance segment specializes in the underwriting of general and life insurance business and insurance agency services. The Others segment comprises investment holding and other miscellaneous activities. Bank of China was founded on February 05, 1912 and is headquartered in Beijing, China.

Tian Guoli, Chairman of the Board of Directors
Mr. TIAN Guoli joined the Bank in April 2013, and is appointed as Chairman of the Board of Directors in May 2013. From December 2010 to April 2013, Mr. TIAN served as vice chairman of the board of directors and general manager of China CITIC Group. During this period, he also served as chairman of the board of directors and non-executive director of China CITIC Bank. From April 1999 to December 2010, Mr. TIAN successively served as vice president and president of China Cinda Asset Management Company, and chairman of the board of directors of China Cinda Asset Management Corporation Limited. From July 1983 to April 1999, Mr. TIAN held various positions in China Construction Bank (“CCB”), including sub-branch general manager, deputy branch general manager, department general manager of the CCB Head Office, and assistant president of CCB. Mr. TIAN has been serving as Chairman of the Board of Directors and a Non-executive Director of BOCHK (Holdings) since June 2013. Mr. TIAN received a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Hubei Institute of Finance and Economics in 1983.
Li Lihui, Vice Chairman and President
Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and President of the Bank since August 2004. From September 2002 to August 2004, Mr. LI served as Deputy Governor of Hainan Province, and from July 1994 to September 2002, Mr. LI was an Executive Vice President of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (“ICBC”). From January 1989 to July 1994, he served in a number of positions at ICBC, including Deputy General Manager of the Fujian Branch, Chief Representative of the Singapore Representative Office and General Manager of the International Business Department. Mr. LI has been serving as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of BOCHK (Holdings) since June 2009. Mr. LI graduated from the Economics Department of Xiamen University in 1977 and obtained a Doctorate in Economics from the Guanghua School of Management of Peking University in 1999.
