Xavier Rolet , Chief Executive
Appointed to the Board in March 2009 and appointed Chief Executive on 20 May 2009. From 2000 to 2008 he was a senior executive at Lehman Brothers and, most recently, CEO of Lehman in France. Prior to Lehman Brothers, he held senior positions at Dresdner Kleinwort Benson from 1997 to 2000, Credit Suisse First Boston from 1994 to 1996 and Goldman Sachs from 1984 to 1994. He was a Non-Executive Director of LCH.Clearnet until July 2010.
David Warren , Chief Financial Officer
David was appointed Chief Financial Officer and joined the Board as a Director on 2 July 2012. David previously spent 9 years as CFO at Nasdaq OMX, where he was responsible for all financial operations, including accounting, SEC and regulatory reporting, treasury, tax, risk management, financial planning and analysis, corporate finance and investor relations. Following this, David spent two years as a Senior Adviser to the CEO of NASDAQ OMX. Prior to his time at Nasdaq OMX, David held a number of senior finance roles, including 7 years at CS First Boston.

Appointed to the Board in June 2010. In addition to his role as Director of Capital Markets, Raffaele was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Borsa Italiana S.p.A. in April 2010. He is also Institore of the LSEGH (Italy) group of companies. Prior to joining Borsa Italiana in 1998, he was head of trading for Italian fixed income at Credit Suisse First Boston from 1993 to 1998. From 1996 he was member of the proprietary trading group in London. From 1997 to 1998 he was a Board Member of MTS S.p.A., representing Credit Suisse First Boston and from 1989 to 1993 was head of trading for the fixed income and derivatives divisions at Cimo S.p.A. in Milan.
Alexander Justham , CEO, London Stock Exchange plc
Alexander was appointed as CEO of regulated subsidiary London Stock Exchange plc in June 2012. He is accountable to the LSE plc Board and to the FSA for UK Regulation, ensuring that LSE plc meets its regulatory responsibilities. He also has Group-wide responsibility for Regulatory Strategy and Government and Public Affairs and for UK Regulation. Prior to joining London Stock Exchange Group, from 2007 to 2011 he worked at the Financial Services Authority (FSA), where from 2008 he was Director of Markets. During his time at the FSA he also held a number of international positions including sitting on the management board of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA). Prior to the FSA he worked at JPMorgan for 17 years, where he held a number of roles, latterly as a Managing Director at JPMorganCazenove.
David Lester , Group Director of Corporate Strategy
David joined the London Stock Exchange in 2001 and is Group Director of Corporate Strategy, leading the development and implementation of core strategic initiatives across the Group. He is Chairman of Turquoise the Exchange's pan-European trading platform for equities and derivatives built in partnership with major banking clients, FTSE (the Exchange’s fully-owned Global index business) and Proquote (the Exchange’s leading Retail Service Provider and Order Management company). David has over 23 years experience in financial information and technology working at Thomson Financial, Accenture and KPMG prior to joining the Exchange.
Mark Makepeace , Group Director of Information Services and Chief Executive of FT
Mark was appointed Group Director of Information Services in October 2012. He is also Chief Executive and founder of FTSE Group, the company he established in 1995. Mark has over 15 years experience of developing successful joint ventures and has forged alliances with stock exchanges, academics and leading industry groups. He is currently a member of the International Advisory Board of the EDHEC Risk and Asset Management Research Centre and Chairman of the Index Industry Association. Prior to establishing FTSE, Mark began his career in the public sector advising on policy issues in inner London local government. He joined London Stock Exchange in 1985 to co-ordinate the deregulation of securities trading in London, helped develop its IT and Information Services business, and led regulation of the UK equities market. Mark has been a long time supporter of the children's charity UNICEF.
Antoine Shagoury , Group Chief Operating Officer (COO) and CIO
Antoine Shagoury assumed the role of Group Chief Operating Officer in May 2012, expanding his responsibilities to include Business Operations in addition to his role managing our Technology portfolio across the Group. He serves as Chairman of MillenniumIT, member of the Boards of Directors of Borsa Italiana, Turquoise MTF, and a member of the International Advisory Board of Tadawul, The Saudi Stock Exchange. He joined the Group in 2010 from American Stock Exchange (a NYSE Euronext company) where he was CIO from 2004. Prior to his role at the Amex/NYSE, Antoine held several executive technology positions over the preceding 10 years at Instinet, most recently as CTO of Instinet Services. He has over 20 years of Technology and Financial Services experience.
Tony Weeresinghe , CEO Millennium IT & Director, Global Development LSEG
Founder and Chief Executive Officer of MillenniumIT. Tony joined the Group’s Executive team in October 2009 through the MillenniumIT acquisition. Prior to starting MillenniumIT he was Head of the Open Systems Division of ComputerLand and Country Manager of Oracle both Sri Lankan based companies. He is a member of the British Computer Society and the Institute of Data Processing Management.
Chris Gibson-Smith , Chairman
Appointed to the Board in May 2003. Also Chairman of The British Land Company plc. He is a Trustee of the London Business School. He was previously Non-Executive Director of Qatar Financial Centre Authority from 2006 to 2012, Chairman of National Air Traffic Services Ltd from 2001 to 2005, Director of Lloyds TSB plc from 1999 to 2005, Group Managing Director of BP plc from 1997 to 2001, and a past Trustee of the Institute of Public Policy Research and the arts charity Arts & Business.
