Executives

Neil Gaskell, Chairman and Independent Non-Executive Director
Appointed a director on 31 March 2004 and Chairman on 24 September 2008. Neil was formerly treasurer of the Royal Dutch Shell Group and a Director of Shell International. During the course of his career he was Shell’s finance manager in Brunei and its representative Director in Showa Shell KK, Japan. Neil is also Deputy Chairman of HydroDec Group and a Non-executive director of Integra Group and Martin Currie Global Portfolio Trust plc.
Kevin Pakenham, Independent Non-Executive Director
Appointed a director on 1 August 2007. Kevin is Director of Pakenham Partners Limited. Prior to that he was Managing Director in London of Jefferies International Limited from 2007 to 2011. He was CEO of John Govett & Co. from 1988 to 2000, including under its ownership by Allied Irish Banks. He was Managing Director of F&C Management from 1983 to 1988, and has served on a wide variety of investment boards in Europe, the USA and the Asia Pacific region.
Sir Andrew Burns, ndependent Non-Executive Director
Appointed a Director in February 2008. Sir Andrew was a career British diplomat from 1965 until 2003 and has extensive experience of Asia, including the Indian subcontinent and South-East Asia as well as greater China. He was British Consul-General in Hong Kong and Macau from 1997 to 2000 and High Commissioner to Canada from 2000 to 2003. He is currently UK Envoy for Post-Holocaust Issues. Sir Andrew is also a Non-executive director of JPMorgan Chinese Investment Trust.
Robert Jenkins, Independent Non-Executive Director
Appointed a director in May, 2009. His trading career began at Citibank (1976-1992) with senior assignments in Dubai, Bahrain, Zurich, New York and Tokyo. He had executive responsibilities in investment management at Credit Suisse Asset Management (Tokyo and London) followed by 12 years at F&C Asset Management, plc where he served as CEO and then Chairman. He was Chairman of the Investment Management Association, UK and a Member of the Panel on Takeovers and Mergers (2007–2009). He co-authored, with Chancellor Darling, a study on the future of the UK’s Asset Management Industry (2009). He was formerly Managing Partner of Combinatorics Capital, LLC in NY, He is currently Adjunct Professor, Finance at the London Business School, Senior Advisor to CVC Capital Partners and an External Member of the Financial Policy Committee of the Bank of England.
