Executives

Ben Lofthouse, Fund Manager
Ben joined Henderson Global Investors in 2004 as an Investment Analyst and Assistant Fund Manager. Ben’s professional career began in 1998 with a position as Audit Manager within the Banking & Capital Markets team at PricewaterhouseCoopers. In 2003, Ben moved into the Business Recovery Services team before joining Henderson’s Value and Income team as an Assistant Fund Manager. In addition to fund management duties, Ben covers the Support Services and Food & Beverages sectors for Henderson’s Equity Department. Ben is also manager of the Henderson Horizon Pan-European Equity Dividend Fund, as well as being deputy fund manager on Lowland Investment Trust, Henderson High Income Trust and the Henderson Global Equity Income Fund.
Christopher William Jonas CBE, Chairman
Christopher Jonas CBE is chairman of Henderson Global Property Companies Limited, a senior adviser at Lazard & Co. Ltd, an adviser to the joint ventures equity division in Lloyds Banking Group and is on the investment committee of CBRE. He has been a main board member of British Railways, the Port of London Authority and Canary Wharf Group plc. He is chairman of Goldsmiths University of London and chairman of the governing body of Roedean. He is a past president of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
Peregrine Banbury, Director
Peregrine Banbury is the chief executive of the Cambridge Commercial Lending Company. He is also a regional non-executive chairman of Coutts & Co following his retirement from Coutts at the end of 2009. He was previously a Managing Partner at Coutts, a former Head of Coutts Asset Management and a director of Coutts Investment Management Limited. A former director of the Securities Institute, he remains a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. He has also been a director of a number of investment trusts and trustee of a number of charities. He is a nonexecutive director of Henderson Global Property Companies Limited and a trustee of the The Two Moors Festival.
Bill Eason, Director
Bill Eason is Head of the Charities & Trust Fund Department, and Chairman of the Investment Committee at Cheviot Asset Management. He has been managing charitable and high net worth portfolios since 1973, and became a member of the London Stock Exchange in 1976. He was Chief Investment Officer at Laing and Cruickshank, and a former Chairman of Henderson High Income Trust plc, as well as acting as trustee to Marshall’s Charity and the John Hampden Fund and as a director of The European Investment Trust PLC. Bill is an Associate of the Society of Investment Professionals (ASIP) and holds a Fellowship of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. He was also a Governor of Henley Management College and is a Fellow of Gray’s Inn.
Simon Jeffreys, Chairman of the Audit Committee
Simon Jeffreys joined the Wellcome Trust in March 2009. He is responsible for a wide range of business services, including finance, human resources, information technology, facilities management and grants management. Simon is on the board of directors of Aon Limited, Hilleman Laboratories and Genome Research Limited. Simon was previously chief administrative officer for Fidelity International and for most of his professional life was a partner in PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he was the global leader of the firm’s investment management and real estate practice.
