Objective of Aberdeen Asian Smaller Companies Investment Trust Plc The investment objective of the Company is to maximise total return to Shareholders over the long term from a portfolio of smaller quoted companies (with a market capitalisation of up to approximately US$1 billion at time of investment) in the economies of Asia and Australasia, excluding Japan.

Nigel Cayzer, Chairman and Independent Non-Executive Director
Chairman of Oryx International Growth Fund Limited and a director of a number of other investment companies.
Haruko Fukuda OBE, Independent Non-Executive Director
Miss Fukuda was, previously chief executive of the World Gold Council. She was vice chairman of Nikko Europe PLC and a Partner of James Capel & Co. She was a non-executive director of the Foreign & Colonial Investment Trust PLC for seventeen years until May 2005 and has been a director of several other investment trust companies.
Alan Kemp, Independent Non-Executive Director
Alan Kemp has been involved in fund management since 1970 and with investment trusts since 1972. He was deputy manager of The Edinburgh Investment Trust plc from 1974 to 1985 and was subsequently deputy chief executive of Dunedin Fund Managers. He is now an independent financial consultant.
Chris Maude, Independent Non-Executive Director
Chris Maude co-founded RWC Partners, an independent asset management company, in 2000 where he was until recently the finance director. He had spent the previous eleven years in Asia initially as finance director at James Capel in Hong Kong before being recruited by UBS Securities (East Asia) Limited as regional finance director in Singapore. He is a chartered accountant and holds a degree in engineering from Cambridge University.
Martin Gilbert, Non-Executive Director
"Martin Gilbert is a founder shareholder and Chief Executive of Aberdeen Asset Management PLC, the holding company of the fund management group that was established in 1983.Martin is a director of a number of investment trusts, Chairman of FirstGroup PLC and a non-executive director of British Sky Broadcasting Group PLC. He is Adjunct Professor of Finance at Imperial College Business School and a member of the Scottish Government's Financial Services Advisory Board, the EFAMA President's Advisory Council and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland. In December 2008, Martin was named European Personality of the Year at the Funds Europe Awards. In 2009, he was named Ernst & Young Overall Scotland Entrepreneur Of The Year. In 2011, he was named Scotland PLC CEO of the Year at the Business Insider/PWC Scotland PLC Awards. Martin was educated in Aberdeen and has an MA in Accountancy and an LLB. He divides his time between Aberdeen, where the business has always been headquartered, and London, as well as overseeing the international operations of the Group "
