Mackenzie introduced the first back-end loaded fund in Canada, the Industrial Horizon Fund. This was made possible by Limited Partnerships. Over time, the eight Limited Partnerships were converted into the Mackenzie Master Limited Partnership (MMLP).

Jeffrey R. Carney, President and Chief Executive Officer of Mackenzie Financial Corporation, co-President and Chief Executive Officer of IGM Financial Inc.
Jeffrey R. Carney, CFA, was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Mackenzie Financial Corporation, and co-President and Chief Executive Officer of IGM Financial Inc., in May 2013.

Mr. Carney is a native of Red Deer, Alberta and also spent his formative years in Edmonton and Regina. He has more than 25 years of experience at investment management firms and banks across both retail and institutional platforms in Canada and the US. He has held senior executive positions at some of the most prominent financial organizations in North America.

Mr. Carney is a graduate of the Bachelor of Commerce program at Queen’s University and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

He serves on the board of the Landmark School in the metropolitan Boston area and the advisory board for Queen’s School of Business. He has also served on the corporate boards of The New England Council, Employee Benefit Research Institute and Defined Contribution Institutional Investment Association.
Tony Elavia, Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer for Mackenzie Financial Corporation
Tony Elavia, PhD, is Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of Mackenzie Financial Corporation, responsible for overseeing all of the company's investment management teams.

Tony has 25 years of industry experience. He possesses a broad, deep investment management background for both retail and institutional clients in the U.S. and also in Canada. His key areas of expertise include growth equity management, asset allocation and quantitative modeling. Previous to Mackenzie, Tony held progressively senior positions, including CIO and CEO at a U.S.-based insurance company subsidiary, and leadership roles at three asset management firms in the U.S.

Tony earned his PhD in Economics from the University of Houston and an MA in Economics from the University of Baroda in India
Brian Gooding, Executive Vice President, Head of Distribution
Brian Gooding provides leadership and strategic direction to Mackenzie Investments’ retail, strategic alliance and institutional distribution businesses.

He has more than 25 years of successful leadership experience in financial services. Previously he was Senior Vice President and General Manager of Affinity Markets, Senior Vice President of Distribution and Vice President of Wealth Management at a leading life insurance company. He was also Senior Vice President, Alliance Distribution at a large investment management firm and an investment advisor at a major full-service investment company.

Mr. Gooding earned a BA in Geography and Economics and a Diploma in Business Administration, both from Wilfrid Laurier University.
Luke Gould, Senior Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer for Mackenzie Investments
Luke Gould is the Senior Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer for Mackenzie Investments, and is responsible for all aspects of Mackenzie’s finances. He also serves as Senior Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer for Investors Group. Luke oversees the financial reporting, risk management and corporate taxation functions for the IGM Financial group of companies.

Luke joined Investors Group in 1997 as a Financial Analyst and held a number of roles having responsibilities for business and strategic analysis, investor relations and corporate finance activities prior to becoming Vice President and Treasurer in 2005. Luke was appointed to Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Investors Group in 2012 and Chief Financial Officer for Mackenzie Investments in 2013.

Luke holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from the University of Manitoba and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
