The company operates through three segments: Semiconductor Test, Wireless Test and Systems Test Group. The Semiconductor Test segment includes operations related to the design, manufacturing and marketing of semiconductor test products and services. It provides semiconductor test equipment for logic, RF, analog, power, mixed-signal and memory technologies. This segment also delivers test solutions to developers and manufacturers of a broad range of integrated circuits, packaged separately or integrated as cells in system-on-a-chip devices. Its products include the FLEX and UltraFLEX, J750, ETS and Magnum families. The Wireless Test segment operates through LitePoint Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of Teradyne, Inc. LitePoint designs, develops, and supports advanced wireless test solutions for the development and manufacturing of wireless devices, including smart phones, tablets, notebooks/laptops, personal computer peripherals, and other Wi-Fi and cellular enabled devices. The Systems Test Group segment is comprised of three business units: Military/Aerospace, Storage Test and Commercial Board Test. The Military/Aerospace business unit provides high-performance test systems, subsystems, instruments, software solutions and service for the defense and aerospace markets. Its solutions are used to ensure the readiness of military and commercial aerospace electronics systems. The Storage Test business unit addresses the high throughput, automated manufacturing test requirement of hard disk drive manufacturers. The Commercial Board Test business unit provides test and inspection systems that are used by electronics manufacturers worldwide. It offers ICT equipment, including handler-ready, in-line test systems for high volume automated board manufacturing, standalone offline systems and combined ICT/functional test solutions. Teradyne was founded by Alexander V. d'Arbeloff and Nicholas DeWolf on September 23, 1960 and is headquartered in North Reading, MA.
