Nanosphere, Inc. develops, manufactures and markets an advanced molecular diagnostics platform, the Verigene System, that enables simple, low cost and highly sensitive genomic and protein testing on a single platform. The Verigene System includes a bench-top molecular diagnostics workstation that is a universal platform for genomic and protein testing and provides for multiple tests to be performed on a single platform, including both genomic and protein assays, from a single sample. Its proprietary nanoparticle technology provides the ability to run multiple tests simultaneously on the same sample. Nanosphere was founded by Chad A. Mirkin and Robert Letsinger on December 30, 1999 and is headquartered in Northbrook, IL.
