Citigroup, Inc. is a global diversified financial services holding company whose businesses provide consumers, corporations, governments and institutions with a broad range of financial products and services. The company operates through two segments: Citicorp, consisting of Citi's Global Consumer Banking businesses and Institutional Clients Group; and Citi Holdings, consisting of Brokerage and Asset Management, Local Consumer Lending and Special Asset Pool. The Global Consumer Banking segment includes a global, full-service consumer franchise delivering a wide array of banking, credit card lending, and investment services through a network of local branches, offices and electronic delivery systems. The Institutional Clients Group segment is composed of Securities and Banking and Transaction Services and provides corporations, governments, institutions and investors with a broad range of banking and financial products and services. The Citi Holdings segment consists of Citi's brokerage and asset management and local consumer lending businesses, and a special asset pool. The Corporate/Other segment includes net treasury results, unallocated corporate expenses, offsets to certain line-item reclassifications, the results of discontinued operations and unallocated taxes. Citigroup was founded on October 8, 1998 and is headquartered in New York, NY.

Citi releases second quarter 2013 earnings

Michael Corbat, CEO
Michael L. Corbat is Chief Executive Officer of Citigroup, the world's global bank, with approximately 200 million customer accounts and activities in more than 160 countries and jurisdictions.
Mr. Corbat has been at Citi and its predecessor companies since his graduation from Harvard University with a bachelor's degree in economics in 1983.
In his previous role as Citi's CEO of Europe, Middle East and Africa since the start of 2012, he oversaw all of Citi's business operations in the region, including consumer banking, corporate and investment banking, securities and trading and private banking services.
Previously, Mr. Corbat served as the CEO of Citi Holdings, Citi's portfolio of non-core businesses and assets. In this role, he oversaw the divestiture of more than 40 businesses, including the IPO and sale of Citi's remaining stake in Primerica. Mr. Corbat also successfully restructured Citi's consumer finance and retail partner cards businesses and divested more than $500 billion assets, reducing risk on the Company's balance sheet and freeing up capital to invest in Citi's core banking business.
Mr. Corbat also served as the CEO of Citi's Global Wealth Management unit. Prior to this, he was Head of the Global Corporate Bank and Global Commercial Bank at Citi, a role in which he led the firm's efforts to provide best-in-class financial services to top-tier multi-national corporations and financial institutions around the world. In his various advisory and structuring roles, Mr. Corbat has successfully guided retail and institutional clients across the spectrum of financial services and significant challenges, from the bankruptcy of Orange County, California, to sovereign debt restructurings in Latin America and business restructurings in North America and Europe.
In addition, Mr. Corbat was the Head of Global Emerging Markets Debt, responsible for the origination, trading and sales of emerging markets fixed income debt. He also held a number of positions at Salomon Brothers, one of Citi's predecessor companies, including Managing Director roles in Emerging Markets, High Yield and Derivatives.
Don Callahan, Head of Enterprise Operations & Technology
Don Callahan is the Head of Enterprise Operations & Technology (O&T) for Citi, where he oversees Enterprise O&T and works closely with the Consumer and Institutional Clients Group O&T organizations.
Mr. Callahan's responsibilities include Citi's Technology and Operations, Data Management, Real Estate, Procurement, and Shared Services. He joined Citi in October 2007.
Prior to joining Citi, Mr. Callahan was a Managing Director and Head of Marketing Strategy for the Investment Banking Division at Credit Suisse.
From 1993 to 2006, Mr. Callahan was a Managing Director with Morgan Stanley, last serving as Head of Business Management for the Institutional business.
Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Mr. Callahan held a number of management positions at International Business Machines Corporation (IBM). His last position there was Director of Strategy for IBM Japan.
He serves on the boards of Manhattanville College and the New York Hall of Science. Mr. Callahan is also a member of the Business Committee of Metropolitan Museum of Art and is a Fellow at the Foreign Policy Association.
Mr. Callahan received a B.A. in history from Manhattanville College.
John Gerspach, Chief Financial Officer
John Gerspach was named Chief Financial Officer of Citi in July 2009. He is responsible for the financial management of the company. Prior to being named CFO, John was Controller and Chief Accounting Officer of Citi.
Mr. Gerspach has been with Citi since 1990 and has held various CFO and Chief Administrative Officer positions throughout the company. He has experience in both the Regional Consumer Banking and Institutional Clients Group and has worked closely with all of the regions, including serving as the CFO/CAO of Latin America.
Before joining Citi in 1990, Mr. Gerspach was CFO at Penn Central Industry Group. Prior to that, he was Comptroller for the Defense Contracting Group at ITT Corporation. His professional career began at Arthur Andersen & Company.
Mr. Gerspach earned his degree in accounting at the University of Notre Dame and is CPA certified in the State of New York. He is a member of the Financial Accounting Standards Advisory Council.
