It operates under several brands in the market, including Issuer Direct, iProxy Direct, Issuer Services, Direct Transfer, iR Direct, XBRL Check and QX Interactive. Issuer Direct works with a diverse client base in the financial services industry, including brokerage firms, banks, mutual funds, corporate issuers, shareholders and specialty firms such as accountants and the legal community. The company was founded in October 1988 and is headquartered in Morrisville, NC.

Executives

Brian R. Balbirnie, Chief Executive Officer
Brian Balbirnie serves as our Chief Executive Officer and strategist. Brian established Issuer Direct in 2006 with a vision of creating a technology driven back-office compliance platform that would reduce costs as well as increase the efficiencies of the most complex tasks. Today the company calls it the Disclosure Management System (DMS). Brian is responsible for the strategic leadership of the company and oversees day-to-day operations. Under Brian’s direction, the Company has grown to serve over 1,000 public companies since 2006.

Brian is an entrepreneur with more than 20 years of experience in emerging industries. Prior to Issuer Direct, Brian was the founder and managing partner of Catapult Company, a compliance and consulting practice focused on the Sarbanes Oxley Act. Brian also has served in ‘C’ level capacities for various companies both public and private. Prior to and with Catapult, Brian also advised several companies on their public market strategies, Merger & Acquisitions as well as their financial reporting requirements.
Wesley Pollard, Chief Financial Officer
Prior to joining the Company, Wesley was employed by Digital Lifestyle Outfitters (“DLO”) from July 2006 through May 2009. He served as Vice President of Finance prior to Philips Electronics’ acquisition of DLO and Head of Finance following the acquisition.

Prior to DLO, Wesley served as International Controller for Tekelec, Inc. from June 2005 to June 2006 and Director of Finance for BioStratum, Inc from June 2001 through June 2005. He also assisted Home Director from June 2000 to June 2001 as the Corporate Controller. From December 1999 to June 2000, Wesley served as the Director of SEC and Financial reporting for BuildNet, Inc. He also spent five years at PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP.

Wesley is a Certified Public Accountant and holds his Master of Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Michael “Miguel” Colón, Vice President, Global Sales
Prior to joining Issuer Direct Mr. Colón was the founder and CEO of SEC Compliance Services a full service XBRL and EDGAR provider.  SEC Compliance Services captured significant market share in less than a year, which led to the purchase of its assets by Issuer Direct Corporation.  Prior to founding SECCS, Michael served as the managing partner of a boutique venture development firm where he oversaw the firm’s investment and acquisition strategy.  He has served in various executive positions in the technology industry for both public and private companies.  Mr. Colón formed a merger and acquisition groups for two publicly traded companies, and has managed several mergers, acquisitions, and public and private capital formations.

Mr. Colón is an Adjunct Faculty member at Chabot College where he helped design the College’s Entrepreneurship Program, where he teaches Entrepreneurship.  Michael is President of the San Francisco board for the National Society of Hispanic MBA’s (NSHMBA), an organization focused on furthering Latino professionals through graduate education. Mr. Colón received his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) and Bachelors of Arts in Management from St. Mary’s College of California.
James G. Michael, Vice President, Global Corporate Solutions
Since joining Issuer Direct in 2006, James Michael has helped grow the company from an idea into a highly profitable products and services company leading the industry in innovation and execution.  James is responsible for strategic product and service development, bringing those ideas to market and driving profitability.  James has direct responsibility for the iProxy and iFundDirect brands along with being a driving force in making Issuer Direct the leader in Disclosure Management.

Prior to joining Issuer Direct James was instrumental in proving then developing Canada as a viable market for Sageworks Inc, and previously served with Intercall focusing on shareholder meeting execution and earning calls.  He holds a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the University of North Carolina Greensboro.
Chris Fetty, Vice President, Global Marketing and Channel Development
Chris joined PrecisionIR in February 2000 as a Business Development Manager. He previously worked as an Analyst for the Investment Banking division of Commerce Bancorp, Inc. In his time with PrecisionIR he has been responsible for the Fund product, Conference Webcast offerings and PrecisionIR’s global partnership network. Most recently Chris was responsible for IR Sales across North America. In his current role, he will be responsible for product and exchange partnership development, launching the core services in new countries, and sales development/training. Chris received a B.S. in Economics from Bridgewater College and an MBA from Virginia Commonwealth University.
M. Eddie Tobler, Vice President, Stock Transfer
Mr. Tobler joined Issuer Direct in 2009 from First Citizens Bank, where he worked in the Corporate Trust and Institutional Services Group. For the past eight years Mr. Tobler has been involved in the various capital transactions, IPO’s, divestures, spin-offs, go-private transactions, tender offers, dividend and reinvestment plans, with both with corporate issuers and community Banks. Mr. Tobler also has served as inspector of elections in several annual meetings and has a vast understanding of corporate compliance and regulatory matters.

Mr. Tobler holds his Bachelor’s degree from North Carolina State University and both his Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Accounting from Gardner Webb University.
