SEACOR Holdings, Inc. is a diversified, multinational company that owns and operates marine assets primarily servicing the oil and gas and marine transportation industries. It also owns and operates bulk commodity barges along the U.S. Inland River Waterways; specializes in the purchase, storage, transportation and sale of agricultural and energy commodities; and provides emergency preparedness and crisis services to governments and industry. The company operates in five business segments: Offshore Marine Services, Aviation Services, Inland River Services, Shipping Services and Alcohol Manufacturing. The Offshore Marine Services segment operates a diversified fleet of offshore support vessels primarily servicing offshore oil and gas exploration, development and production facilities worldwide. The Aviation Services segment operates and contract-leases helicopters that provide transportation services supporting offshore oil and gas activities primarily in the United States, air medical services to hospitals in the United States and international contract-leasing activities. The Inland River Services segment engages in the dry and liquid cargo transportation on the U.S. Inland River Waterways and the Gulf Intracoastal Waterways for a range of agricultural and industrial products. In addition, it has interests in high-speed multi-modal terminal facilities and provides a broad range of services including machine shop, gear and engine repairs and the repair of barges and towboats at strategic locations on the U.S. Inland River Waterways. The Shipping Services segment invests in, operates and leases a diversified fleet of U.S.-flag and foreign-flag marine transportation related assets including deep-sea cargo vessels and harbor tugs primarily servicing the U.S. coastwise petroleum trade and ships docking in the U.S. Gulf and East Coast ports. The Alcohol Manufacturing segment operates through its subsidiary Illinois Corn Processing which engages in the manufacturing, storage, marketing and distribution of high quality alcohol used in food, beverage, industrial and petro-chemical end markets; and fuel grade ethanol. It also involved in the business of emergency and crisis services activities, agricultural commodity trading and logistics activities, lending and leasing activities and non-controlling investments in various other businesses, primarily industrial aviation services businesses in Asia. The company was founded by Charles L. Fabrikant in 1989 and is headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
