Hutchinson Technology, Inc. provides suspension assemblies for hard disk drives. It operates through two segments: Disk Drive Components and BioMeasurement. The Disk Drive Components segment is a supplier of suspension assemblies for disk drives. These suspension assemblies are precise electro-mechanical components that hold a disk drive's recording head at microscopic distances above the drive's disks. Its product solutions help customers improve yields, increase reliability and enhance disk drive performance, thereby increasing the value they derive from the products. The BioMeasurement segment provides the InSpectra StO2 System, which consists of the InSpectra StO2 Tissue Oxygenation Monitor and the InSpectra StO2 Sensor for use in trauma, critical care, and emergency medicine settings to directly monitor the compromised tissue perfusion associated with hemorrhagic and other forms of shock. This device provides a measure of StO2, which quantifies the ratio of oxygenated hemoglobin to total hemoglobin in the microcirculation of skeletal or peripheral muscle. The device provides continuous, real-time information using near infrared spectroscopy and a noninvasive, single-use sensor placed on the thenar eminence (thumb muscle). Hutchinson Technology was founded by Jon A Geiss and Jeffrey W Green in 1965 and is headquartered in Hutchinson, MN.
