Hess Corp. is a global integrated energy company engaged in the exploration, production, purchase, transportation and sale of crude oil and natural gas, as well as the production and sale of refined petroleum products. It operates through two reportable business segments: Exploration and Production and Marketing and Refining. The Exploration and Production segment explores for, develops, produces, purchases, transports and sells crude oil and natural gas. These exploration and production activities take place principally in Algeria, Australia, Azerbaijan, Brazil, Brunei, China, Colombia, Denmark, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, France, Ghana, Indonesia, Libya, Malaysia, Norway, Peru, Russia, Thailand, the United Kingdom and the United States. The Marketing and Refining segment manufactures refined petroleum products and purchases, markets and trades refined petroleum products, natural gas and electricity. The company's additional refining facility, terminals and retail gasoline stations, and convenience stores are located on the East Coast of the United States. The firm changed its name from Amerada Hess Corp. to Hess Corp. in 2006. The company was founded in 1920 by Leon Hess and is headquartered in New York, NY.

John B. Hess is Chief Executive Officer of Hess Corporation, a leading independent energy exploration and production company.

Mr. Hess has recently led the Fortune 100 Company through a strategic transformation from an integrated oil company into a pure play E&P company. Hess’ global portfolio is focused in five strategic areas: the Bakken Shale in North Dakota and the Utica Shale in Ohio; the Deepwater Gulf of Mexico; Valhall Field in Norway and South Arne Field in Denmark; offshore West Africa – Equatorial Guinea and Ghana; and off-shore Malaysia in the Gulf of Thailand. In the Bakken, Hess is one of the industry leaders as well as one of the largest oil and gas producers.

Mr. Hess currently serves on the Secretary of Energy Advisory Board Quadrennial Review Task Force. He is a member of the Board of Directors of KKR & Company and the Board of Trustees at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. He is also a member of The Business Council, the Trilateral Commission and the Council on Foreign Relations, and serves on the Executive Committee of the American Petroleum Institute. In addition, Mr. Hess serves on the Board of Directors of the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts and on the Board of Trustees at the New York Public Library and Mount Sinai Hospital.

Mr. Hess is a graduate of Harvard College (BA) and Harvard Business School (MBA). A member of the Board of Dean’s Advisors at Harvard Business School, he is also Chair, The Harvard Business School Campaign.
Gregory P. Hill , President and COO
Greg Hill is President and COO for Hess Corporation, a leading global independent energy company engaged in the exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas. Hill was previously EVP and President of Hess’ worldwide Exploration and Production business.

Hill joined Hess in January 2009 from Shell where he spent 25 years in a variety of operations, engineering, technical and business leadership roles in Asia-Pacific, Europe and the United States.

From 2006 to 2008, Hill was Executive Vice President – Exploration and Production of Singapore-based Shell Asia Pacific, a region that included the Philippines, China, Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand. He also served as Chairman of the company’s Global Production Leadership Team.

From 2003 to 2006, Hill was Vice President of Production for Shell E&P Europe. He led company-operated assets in the U.K., Norway and the Netherlands from a base in Aberdeen, Scotland. Prior to that leadership role, he led the merger of Enterprise Oil into Royal Dutch Shell in 2002 and 2003.

Hill served as Senior Vice President of Aera Energy, a California-based joint venture affiliate of Shell and Mobil, from 1997 to 2002, where he was responsible for the majority of the operations of the company.

Earlier in his career Hill served as a Vice President in strategic planning in London, Vice President of operations in California, and numerous other leadership roles in government relations, operations and technology in Houston and California.

Hill holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wyoming.
