The company operates through three segments: Energy Management, Production Management and Infrastructure Management. The Energy management segment provides intelligent solutions for electricity, gas, oil and water utilities. The Production management segment provides software products and customized solutions for production planning, specialized production controls and logistics. The Infrastructure management segment provides control solutions for monitoring and operation of infrastructures in the fields of transport, traffic, public safety, environmental protection and disaster prevention. It was founded in 1969 and is headquartered in Berlin, Germany.

His main target is to focus PSI on software product business and to further expand international business, profitability and growth.

As a member of the corporate group executive board from 1997 to 2000 Armin Stein came to the PSI Group by way of the acquisition of repas AEG Software GmbH.
