Caterpillar, Inc. is engaged in the manufacturing of construction & mining equipment, diesel & natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives. The company provides technology for construction, transportation, mining, forestry, energy, logistics, electronics, financing and electric power generation. Caterpillar operates in four segments: Construction Industries, Resource Industries, Power Systems and Financial Products. The Construction Industries segment supports customers using machinery in infrastructure and building construction applications. It product portfolio includes backhoe loaders, small wheel loaders, small track-type tractors, skid steer loaders, multi-terrain loaders, mini excavators, compact wheel loaders etc. The Resource Industries segment includes business strategy, product design, product management and development, manufacturing, marketing and sales and product support. The Power Systems segment responsible for supporting customers using reciprocating engines, turbines and related parts across industries serving electric power, industrial, petroleum and marine applications as well as rail-related businesses. The Financial Products segment line business provides a wide range of financing alternatives to customers and dealers for Caterpillar machinery and engines, solar gas turbines as well as other equipment and marine vessels. The company was founded in 1925 and is headquartered in Peoria, IL.

Doug Oberhelman, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Douglas R. Oberhelman is chairman and chief executive officer of Caterpillar Inc. in Peoria, Ill. Oberhelman joined Caterpillar in 1975 and has held a variety of positions including senior finance representative based in South America for Caterpillar Americas Co; region finance manager and district manager for the company's North American Commercial Division; and managing director and vice general manager for strategic planning at Caterpillar Japan Ltd. (CJL) - Tokyo, Japan. Oberhelman was elected a vice president in 1995, serving as Caterpillar's chief financial officer with administrative responsibility for the corporation's accounting, information services, tax, treasury, investor relations and marketing support services areas from 1995 to November 1998. In 1998, he became vice president with responsibility for the Engine Products Division, including the market development, strategic planning, supplier management, electric power generation and worldwide marketing and administration for Caterpillar's engine business.
Ed Rapp, Chief Financial Officer
Ed Rapp is a group president and CFO of Caterpillar Inc. in Peoria, Ill. Rapp has responsibility for the Finance Services Division, Human Services Division, Global Information Services Division, Global Purchasing Division and Financial Products Division, as well as Strategy & Business Development, Corporate Auditing and Investor Relations. Since joining Caterpillar as a pricing analyst in 1979, Rapp has held positions related to pricing, production scheduling, marketing, dealer development, manufacturing and product development. In 1987, he transferred to the North American Commercial Division where he held positions in Planning Support and as district manager of the San Francisco district. He later transferred to Johannesburg, South Africa, as area manager and then on to Geneva, Switzerland, where he was the department manager in Building Construction Products, and Europe Region Manager. In 2000, Rapp became an Officer of Caterpillar as the vice president of the Europe-Africa-Middle East (EAME) Marketing Division. Prior to becoming a group president in 2007, Rapp served as vice president of Caterpillar's Building Construction Products (BCP) Division, based in Cary, N.C. Rapp has a B.A. in finance from the University of Missouri-Columbia and is a graduate of the University of Illinois Executive Development program. He is a member of the board of directors of FMGlobal and Junior Achievement (J.A.) USA. Rapp is also a member of the University of Missouri College of Business Strategic Development Board.
JAMES B. BUDA, Chief Legal Officer
Jim Buda is senior vice president of the Legal Services Division at Caterpillar Inc. in Peoria, Ill. He is also chief legal officer of Caterpillar Inc. Buda joined Caterpillar in 1987 as an attorney in the legal department. He has served in a number of senior corporate attorney positions and was named associate general counsel in 1996. In 1999, Buda assumed the position of associate general counsel for the Legal Services Division in the United Kingdom legal office. He has held his current position since 2001. Buda has a bachelor's degree from Ball State University, a law degree from the University of Notre Dame and completed a Harvard University executive program. Buda is a member of the American Bar Association, American Corporate Counsel Association, American Society of Corporate Secretaries, American Trial Lawyers Association, Association of General Counsels, Civil Justice Reform Group, Corporate Executive Board - General Counsel Roundtable, Defense Research Institute, Federation of Corporate and Insurance Counsel, Illinois and Indiana State Bar Associations, International Association of Defense Counsel, Product Liability Advisory Council, Trial Attorneys of America, Who's Who in American Law and the Illinois Equal Justice Foundation Board.
