Jeffrey L. Bewkes, Chairman of the Board and CEO, Time Warner Inc.
Jeff Bewkes is Chairman of the Board and CEO of Time Warner Inc. He was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors in January 2009, having served on the Board since January 2007. He was elected CEO of the Company in January 2008.
Prior to being named Chairman and CEO, Mr. Bewkes served as Time Warner's President and COO from January 2006 to December 2007 and as Chairman of the Entertainment and Networks group from July 2002 to December 2005. Before joining the corporate management of Time Warner, Mr. Bewkes served as Chairman and CEO of HBO from May 1995 to July 2002, and as President and COO of HBO from September 1991 to May 1995.
Mr. Bewkes serves on the Boards of Yale University and the Partnership for New York City and on the advisory boards for The George Washington University Law School, The Creative Coalition, The Paley Center for Media, and is a member of The Business Council.
Mr. Bewkes has a BA from Yale University and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
John K. Martin, Chief Financial and Administrative Officer
John K. Martin is Chief Financial and Administrative Officer of Time Warner Inc.
In his role, Mr. Martin oversees all of Time Warner's finance, accounting, mergers and acquisitions, internal audit, investor relations, treasury and tax areas. In addition, he works closely with other members of Time Warner's senior management team and its operating divisions on a variety of organizational, development and diversity issues. His responsibilities, effective January 1, 2011, also include oversight of corporate human resources, corporate social responsibility, employee development and growth, compensation and benefits, worldwide recruitment, philanthropy and security and transportation. Mr. Martin is also responsible for leading company-wide efforts to launch shared services in the areas of information technology, real estate and facilities and HR systems.
Before assuming his current role in January 2008, Mr. Martin had been Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Time Warner Cable Inc. since August 2005. Prior to joining Time Warner Cable, Mr. Martin spent nearly 12 years at Time Warner, most recently serving as Senior Vice President, Investor Relations, from 2002 to 2005.
Mr. Martin was Director in the Equity Research group of ABN AMRO Securities LLC from 2000 to 2002, immediately before re-joining Time Warner Inc. as head of its Investor Relations group. He held the position of Vice President of Investor Relations at Time Warner Inc. from 1999 to 2000. Earlier, Mr. Martin served as Director in the Office of the President at Time Warner. Mr. Martin also served as Director of Finance Special Projects, where he was involved in diverse projects including strategic planning, company restructuring and refinancings, budgeting and mergers and acquisitions. He joined Time Warner Inc. in 1993, as a Manager of SEC financial reporting.
Under Mr. Martin's leadership, Time Warner Inc.'s investor relations program was recognized for excellence by Institutional Investor magazine.
Before joining Time Warner Inc., Mr. Martin was a Certified Public Accountant, working as a senior accountant in the Business Assurance group at Ernst and Young LLP in New York.
Mr. Martin is a director on the Board of Trustees for Columbia University's business school. He is also a member of The Conference Board's Council of Financial Executives, Financial Executives International (FEI) and The Paley Center for Media.
Mr. Martin received an M.B.A. degree in Finance and Organizational Behavior from the Columbia University Business School in 1994 and a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania in 1989.
Paul T. Cappuccio, Executive Vice President and General Counsel
Mr. Cappuccio is the chief legal officer at Time Warner. In that capacity, he oversees the worldwide management of Time Warner's legal functions, collaborating with all of its operating businesses. Previously, from August 1999 until January 2001, Mr. Cappuccio was Senior Vice President and General Counsel at America Online.
Before joining AOL, Mr. Cappuccio was a partner at the Washington, D.C., office of Kirkland & Ellis, one of the world's premier litigation and transactional law firms, where he specialized in telecommunications law, appellate litigation and negotiation with government agencies. From 1991-1993, Mr. Cappuccio was Associate Deputy Attorney General at the United States Department of Justice, where he advised Attorney General William P. Barr on matters relating to judicial selection, civil litigation, antitrust and civil rights.
Prior to his service at the Justice Department, Mr. Cappuccio served as a law clerk at the Supreme Court of the United States, first for Justice Antonin Scalia (1987-1988) and later for Justice Anthony M. Kennedy (1988-1989). He also served as a law clerk to Judge Alex Kozinski of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in Pasadena, California from 1986-1987.
Mr. Cappuccio is a 1986 graduate of Harvard Law School and a 1983 graduate of Georgetown University.
