Executives
William J. Reuter, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
William J. Reuter serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Susquehanna Bancshares, Inc. He is also Chairman of the Board of its banking subsidiary, Susquehanna Bank, as well as the following subsidiaries: Boston Service Company, Inc. (t/a Hann Financial Service Corp.); Valley Forge Asset Management Corp.; and The Addis Group, LLC. Mr. Reuter is a Director of Stratton Management Company and Semper Trust Company. He started his career with the company in 1973, when he joined one of its predecessor banks in Maryland.
Mr. Reuter has held leadership roles in numerous community organizations throughout his career, including serving as campaign chairman for United Way campaigns in both Hagerstown, MD, and Lancaster, PA.
Andrew S. Samuel, President and Chief Revenue Officer
Andrew S. Samuel serves as President and Chief Revenue Officer of Susquehanna Bancshares, Inc., and as President and Chief Executive Officer of Susquehanna Bank. He is responsible for the overall leadership and strategic direction of the bank’s network of more than 260 branch offices; marketing; Susquehanna Wealth Management; and specialized business lines including mortgage lending, small business and agricultural lending, commercial finance and insurance.
Mr. Samuel joined Susquehanna in February 2012 with the acquisition of Tower Bancorp, Inc., where he had served as Chairman and CEO. He founded that company in 2005 under the name Graystone Bank, and it grew rapidly by opening new branches and through acquisitions. Tower Bancorp and its bank subsidiary, Graystone Tower Bank, included 49 branches and more than $2.5 billion in assets at the time of the acquisition by Susquehanna.
Mr. Samuel has 28 years of experience in the banking and financial services industry. He graduated from Messiah College with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting/marketing. He also attended Central PA Banking School at Bucknell University, National Commercial Lending School at Oklahoma University and the Stoner Graduate School of Banking at the University of Delaware.
Mr. Samuel has been a member of the board of trustees of Messiah College; board member of the Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts, Harrisburg; board member of the Harrisburg Regional Chamber; board member of the Harrisburg YMCA; chairman of Envision of South Central PA; chairman of the Intercity Task Force of Envision, Capital Region; board member of Central PA Marketplace; and division chairman of the United Way’s Capital Region. He is a frequent speaker on leadership and organizational development, both regionally and nationally.
Eddie L. Dunklebarger, Executive Vice President
Eddie L. Dunklebarger serves as a Director and Executive Vice President of Susquehanna Bancshares, Inc. He also serves as a Director of Valley Forge Asset Management Corp. and Susquehanna Trust and Investment Company. He formerly served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Susquehanna. Mr. Dunklebarger had been Chairman, President and CEO of Community Banks, Inc., when Susquehanna acquired Community Banks in November 2007. He joined the bank in 1993.
He is a member of various professional and community organizations, including the American Institute of CPAs, Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs and the Advisory Council for York Habitat for Humanity.
Drew K. Hostetter, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
As Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Hostetter has responsibility for corporate accounting and reporting, bank accounting and reporting, corporate finance, corporate treasury and investments, as well as investor relations.
He joined Susquehanna in 1995 and was named Assistant Treasurer. In 1998, he assumed the position of Treasurer & Chief Financial Officer and, in 2001, was promoted to Executive Vice President, Treasurer & Chief Financial Officer.
Mr. Hostetter began his financial career in 1976 with Price Waterhouse. Later he held accounting positions with Equitable Bancorporation and eventually became Senior Vice President & Corporate Controller of MNC Financial, Equitable's successor. He came to Susquehanna after the purchase of MNC by NationsBank.
A summa cum laude graduate of Bloomsburg University, Mr. Hostetter holds a bachelor's degree in accounting. While at Bloomsburg, he received the Robert Redman Award for most outstanding athlete. He serves as financial secretary for Elizabethtown Grace Brethren Church and is a member of the board of directors of Grace House, Lancaster County Therapeutic Riding Club, Gretna Music and the Bloomsburg University Foundation.
Michael M. Quick, Executive Vice President and Chief Corporate Credit Officer
Michael M. Quick serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Corporate Credit Officer of Susquehanna Bancshares, Inc. He joined the company in 1991 as an executive of its predecessor bank in New Jersey. A former chairman of the New Jersey Bankers Association, Mr. Quick received the association’s Forrey-Gallman Award for Outstanding Service to the Banking Industry in 2009. He is a member of the South Jersey Bankers Association and serves the American Bankers Association as New Jersey Grassroots Coordinator.
