The Travelers Cos., Inc. is a holding company engaged through its subsidiaries in providing a wide range of commercial and personal property and casualty insurance products and services to businesses, government units, associations and individuals. The company operates its business through three segments: Business Insurance; Financial, Professional & International Insurance and Personal Insurance. The Business Insurance segment offers a broad array of property and casualty insurance and insurance-related services to its clients primarily in the United States. It is organized into the six groups: Select Accounts, Commercial Accounts, National Accounts, Industry-Focused Underwriting, Target Risk Underwriting and Specialized Distribution. The Select Accounts provides small businesses with property and casualty products, including commercial multi-peril, commercial property, general liability, commercial auto and workers' compensation insurance. The Commercial Accounts provides mid-sized businesses with property and casualty products, including commercial multi-peril, commercial property, general liability, commercial auto and workers' compensation insurance. The provides large companies with casualty products and services, including workers' compensation, general liability and automobile liability, generally utilizing loss-sensitive products, on both a bundled and unbundled basis. It also includes the company's commercial residual market business, which primarily offers workers' compensation products and services to the involuntary market. The Industry-Focused Underwriting provides targeted industries with differentiated combinations of insurance coverage, risk management, claims handling and other service. The Target Risk Underwriting provides commercial businesses requiring specialized product underwriting, claims handling and risk management services. The Specialized Distribution provides market and underwrite their products to customers predominantly through licensed wholesale, general and program agents that manage customers' unique insurance requirements. The Financial, Professional & International Insurance segment includes surety and financial liability coverage's, which primarily use credit-based underwriting processes as well as property and casualty products that are primarily marketed on a domestic basis in the United Kingdom, Canada and the Republic of Ireland and on an international basis as a corporate member of Lloyd's. This segment includes two groups namely Bond & Financial Products and International. The Personal Insurance segment writes a broad range of property and casualty insurance covering personal risks. The primary products of automobile and homeowners insurance are complemented by a broad suite of related coverage's. Travelers was founded in 1853 and is headquartered in New York, NY.

Jay S. Fishman, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Fishman is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Travelers. He has served as the Company’s Chief Executive Officer since the April 1, 2004 merger of The St. Paul Companies, Inc. with Travelers Property Casualty Corp. that formed the Company, and he assumed the additional role of Chairman in September 2005. He held the additional title of President from October 2001 until June 2008. From October 2001 until April 2004, Mr. Fishman had been Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of The St. Paul Companies, Inc. Mr. Fishman held several key executive posts at Citigroup Inc. from 1998 to October 2001, including Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of the Travelers insurance business. Starting in 1989, Mr. Fishman worked as an executive for Primerica, which became part of Citigroup. Mr. Fishman is a director of ExxonMobil Corporation, a trustee of the University of Pennsylvania, a member of the Board of Overseers of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, and a director of the New York Philharmonic.
Jay S. Benet, Vice Chairman and Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Benet has been Vice Chairman and Chief Financial Officer since August 2005, and before that, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the Company since the Merger, and from February 2002 until the Merger, he held those same offices at TPC. From March 2001 until January 2002, Mr. Benet was the worldwide head of financial planning, analysis and reporting at Citigroup and Chief Financial Officer for Citigroup’s Global Consumer Europe, Middle East and Africa unit between April 2000 and March 2001. Before that, Mr. Benet spent 10 years in various executive positions with Travelers Life & Annuity, including Chief Financial Officer of Travelers Life & Annuity and Executive Vice President, Group Annuity from December 1998 to April 2000, and Senior Vice President Group Annuity from December 1996 to December 1998. Prior to joining Travelers Life & Annuity, Mr. Benet was a partner of Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers).
Brian W. MacLean, President and Chief Operating Officer
Mr. MacLean was named President and Chief Operating Officer in June 2008, following three years as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. He is responsible for all insurance operations, including Personal Insurance, Business Insurance, and Financial, Professional & International Insurance, including the company’s runoff businesses. He is also responsible for Claim Services, including claim service delivery and technical claim results. From 2002 to 2005, Mr. MacLean was Executive Vice President, Claim Services and before that, 1999 to 2002, he served as President of Select Accounts for Travelers Insurance Group Holdings, Inc. Previously, he served in a number of senior financial roles after joining Travelers in 1988, following his experience as audit manager at Peat Marwick (now KPMG LLP). Mr. MacLean holds a bachelor’s degree from Fordham University and a master’s degree from the University of South Carolina.
