Carl J. Chaney, President & Chief Executive Officer
Director of Hancock Holding Company ('the Company') since 2006. Named Chief Executive Officer, Hancock Holding Company in 2006; Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the Company, Hancock Bank, Gulfport, Mississippi and Hancock Bank of Louisiana from 1998 to 2006; Previously, he was a Director and Shareholder of the law firm, Watkins Ludlam Winter & Stennis, P.A., Jackson Mississippi from 1995 to 1998, where he specialized in Investment Banking and Merger and Acquisitions in the Banking Industry. Chaney is a director of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, New Orleans Branch. He serves as a director of The Mississippi Power Company since 2009. He also serves on the board of Avoca, Inc. Chaney is past chairman of the Mississippi Bankers Association and is a director of the Mississippi Partnership for Economic Development. He is a director and treasurer of the Mississippi Economic Council. Chaney is a course coordinator and instructor at the Graduate School of Banking at LSU and an instructor at the Mississippi School of Banking and the Alabama Banking School.
Michael M. Achary, EVP & Chief Financial Officer
Michael M. Achary joined Hancock in summer 2000. Previously, he served as senior vice president at New Orleans based First Commerce Corporation and as chief financial officer for a New Orleans law firm. A certified public accountant, Achary received both a bachelor of science degree in accounting and a master of business administration degree from the University of New Orleans. Achary is also a graduate of the prestigious Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University.
John M. Hairston, Chief Executive Officer & Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Hairston currently serves as Chief Executive Officer and Director of Hancock Holding Company since 2006. He also serves as Chief Operating Officer since 2008. He served as Chief Operations Officer from 1994 to 2006 and Executive Vice President of the Company and Banks from 1994 to 2006. Prior to joining the company, he was a Manager with Financial Services Consulting, a Division of Andersen Consulting, headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. Hairston is the Chairman of the Mississippi Gaming Commission and past Chairman of the Mississippi Information Technology Services Board. He also serves on the board of the Mississippi State University Research and Technology Corporation. He serves on the Board of Trustees of the Ohr O'Keefe Museum of Art in Biloxi and is a trustee of the National WWII Museum in New Orleans.
