EOG Resources is building a huge sand mine in northwest Cooke County Texas. They propose to process up to 5 million gallons of water per day, which threatens the Trinity Aquifer. The silica being mined contains a known carcinogen. So, the air quality is also being threatened. As the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality considers an air quality permit for EOG, a public meeting was held in Muenster Texas on August 13, 2011. This video was one of the comments made during the public meeting. Governor Rick Perry appointed the TCEQ representatives.
