Christopher Smith, Chairman
Christopher Smith’s background is in corporate finance.He has over 30 year’s experience in corporate finance and equity capital markets and was Managing Director – Corporate Finance for JP Morgan Cazenove.

He is Chairman of CG Asset Management Limited and Deputy Chairman of Allchurches Trust Limited. He is Chairman of the Nominations Committee and a member of the Remuneration Committee and Chairman of Law Debenture Trust Company of New York.

Christopher joined the board in March 2009 and became Chairman in April 2013.
Michael Adams, Chief Executive Officer
Michael's background is in Corporate Trust Banking and as an Accountant. After qualifying as a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales he was in professional practice for 8 years, finishing at Grant Thornton, before switching to the banking industry. Prior to joining Law Debenture, he held a number of senior roles at Barclays Capital, he was a Managing Director at BNY Mellon Corporate Trust in EMEA and most recently was the Global Head of Structured Finance Services at TMF Group. Michael was appointed to the board on 4 August 2016.
Robert Laing, Non-executive Director
Robert is a lawyer. He was admitted as a solicitor in England in 1977 and in Scotland in 1985. He worked for Slaughter and May from 1975 to 1985, when he joined Maclay Murray & Spens. He has been a partner in that firm (now Maclay Murray & Spens LLP) since 1985 and chairman since June 2010. He is a non-executive director of The Independent Investment Trust.
Mark Bridgeman, Non-executive director
Mark Bridgeman’s background is in fund management. He spent 19 years with Schroder plc as an analyst and then fund manager, rising to become Global Head of Research. Previous roles at Schroders included Head of Pan European Research, Head of Global Sector Research, and Emerging Markets Fund Manager. During his career, he enjoyed successful long term secondments in Australia and the United States.

Mark left Schroders in 2009 to manage a rural estate and farming business in Northumberland. He is a non-executive director of JP Morgan Brazil Investment Trust plc, Blackrock Emerging Europe plc and North East Finance (Holdco) Limited, a venture capital fund of funds targeting SMEs in the North East of England. He is also on the boards of three charities.

Mark joined the board in March 2013.
Tim Bond, Non-executive director
Tim is a partner of Odey Asset Management LLP. He joined Odey in 2010 as its head of macroeconomic strategy and currently manages Odey’s Odyssey Fund. Before joining Odey, Tim spent 12 years at Barclays Capital as Managing Director and head of global asset allocation. Tim was editor and principal author of Barclays Capital's Equity Gilt Study and chief advisor to the bank's RADAR fund. Previously Tim worked at Moore Capital as a portfolio strategist and spent 10 years as a strategist and trader for Tokai Bank Europe, a proprietary trading boutique. Tim graduated in English Literature from Oriel College, Oxford in 1985.

Tim joined the board in April 2015.
James Henderson, Portfolio Manager
He first became involved in the management of Law Debenture’s portfolio in 1994 and took over sole management of the portfolio in June 2003. James Henderson joined Henderson global Investors in 1983 and has been an investment trust portfolio manager since 1990, managing Lowland Investment Company plc since then and Henderson Opportunities Trust plc since January 2007. James is very much a value driven fund manager and seeks out opportunities among large, medium and small companies where he believes that stocks are trading more cheaply than they should, based on management’s performance and the prospects for the company. James is a passionate advocate of the prospects for equities over other investments in the long term.
