Southern Copper Corp. produces copper, molybdenum, zinc and silver. The company operates its business through the three segments: Peruvian, Mexican Open-Pit, and Mexican Underground Mining Operations. The Peruvian Operations segment includes the Toquepala and Cuajone mine complexes and the smelting and refining plants, industrial railroad, and port facilities which service both mines. The Mexican Open-Pit Operations segment includes the La Caridad and Buenavista mine complexes and the smelting and refining plants and support facilities which service both mines. The Mexican Underground Mining Operations segment includes underground mines that produce zinc, copper, silver and gold, a coal mine which produces coal and coke, and a zinc refinery. Southern Copper was founded on December 12, 1952 and is headquartered in Phoenix, AZ.
