General Mills, Inc. is a manufacturer and marketer of branded consumer foods sold through retail stores. It also supplies branded and unbranded food products to the foodservice and commercial baking industries. General Mills operates through three reportable business segments: U.S. Retail, International and Bakeries & Foodservice. The U.S. Retail segment reflects business with a wide variety of grocery stores, mass merchandisers, membership stores, natural food chains, and drug, dollar and discount chains operating throughout the United States. This segment products include ready-to-eat cereals, refrigerated yogurt, ready-to-serve soup, dry dinners, shelf stable and frozen vegetables, refrigerated and frozen dough products, dessert and baking mixes, frozen pizza and pizza snacks, grain, fruit and savory snacks, and a wide variety of organic products, including soup, granola bars, and cereal. The International segment consists of retail and foodservice businesses outside of the United States. This segment products include ready-to-eat cereals, shelf stable and frozen vegetables, dry dinners, refrigerated and frozen dough products, dessert and baking mixes, frozen pizza snacks, grain and fruit snacks, super-premium ice cream and frozen desserts, refrigerated yogurt, grain snacks, shelf stable and frozen vegetables, refrigerated and frozen dough products, and dry dinners. This segment also exports manufactured products mainly to Caribbean and Latin American markets, as well as to its international joint ventures. The Bakeries & Foodservice segment products include cereals, snacks, yogurt, unbaked and fully baked frozen dough products, baking mixes, and flour. This segment sells and markets its products to distributors and operators, including foodservice, convenience stores, vending, and supermarket bakeries. The firm's trademarks and patents include Ready-to-eat cereals; Refrigerated yogurt; Refrigerated and frozen; Dry dinners and shelf stable and frozen vegetable; Grain, fruit, and savory snacks; Dessert and baking mixes; Ready-to-serve soup; Ice cream and frozen desserts; Frozen pizza and pizza snacks and Organic products. The Ready-to-eat cereals brands include Cheerios, Wheaties, Lucky Charms, Total, Trix, Golden Grahams, Chex, Kix, Fiber One, Reese's Puffs, Cocoa Puffs, Cookie Crisp, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Clusters, Oatmeal Crisp and Basic 4. The Refrigerated yogurt products include Yoplait, Trix, Delights, Go-GURT, Fiber One, YoPlus, Whips!, and Mountain High. The Refrigerated and frozen products include Pillsbury, the Pillsbury Doughboy character, Grands!, Golden Layers, Big Deluxe, Toaster Strudel, Toaster Scrambles, Simply, Savorings, Jus-Rol, Latina, Pasta Master, Wanchai Ferry, V.Pearl, and La Salteña. The Dry dinners and shelf stable and frozen vegetable products include Betty Crocker, Hamburger Helper, Tuna Helper, Chicken Helper, Old El Paso, Green Giant, Potato Buds, Suddenly Salad, BacO's, Betty Crocker Complete Meals, Valley Selections, Simply Steam, Valley Fresh Steamers, Wanchai Ferry, and Diablitos. The Grain, fruit, and savory snacks include Nature Valley, Fiber One, Betty Crocker, Fruit Roll-Ups, Fruit By The Foot, Gushers, Stickerz, Chex Mix, Gardetto's, Bugles, and Lärabar. The Dessert and baking mixes products include Betty Crocker, SuperMoist, Warm Delights, Bisquick, and Gold Medal. The Ready-to-serve soup includes Progresso. In 1996, he returned to the United States to become president of Yoplait USA, and was named president of the General Mills Big G cereal division in 1997. Powell returned to Switzerland in 1999 to become chief executive officer of CPW, helping grow the joint venture into what is now a $2 billion global cereal business marketing in more than 130 countries around the world. In 2006, Powell was elected president and chief operating officer of General Mills with overall global operating responsibility for the company. He was elected chief executive officer in September 2007 and chairman in May 2008. General Mills is regularly listed among the world’s leading businesses. Mark W. Addicks, Senior Vice President; Chief Marketing Officer
As senior vice president, chief marketing officer, Mark Addicks has overall responsibility for the company’s world-class marketing function and its marketing services organization, Gcom. In his role, Addicks has oversight responsibilities for the company’s global brand-building strategy, including its advertising, promotions, public relations, design, packaging, online, licensing and multicultural initiatives. He also oversees some of the industry’s most recognized equity platforms, including Box Tops for Education and the Pillsbury Bake-Off Contest. Donal L. Mulligan, Chief Financial Officer
Don Mulligan was named executive vice president, chief financial officer of General Mills in August 2007. In this capacity, Mulligan has overall company responsibility for worldwide finance, mergers & acquisitions, strategy, investor relations, external reporting, internal audit, tax, treasury, global business services, and information systems. He is also a trustee of the General Mills Foundation.
