Imperial Oil Ltd. is an integrated oil company, which engages in the exploration, production and sale of, crude oil and natural gas in Canada. The company also petroleum refiner, producer and marketer of petroleum products. It operates through three segments: Upstream, Downstream and Chemical. The Upstream segment is organized and operates to explore for and ultimately produce crude oil and its equivalent, and natural gas. The Downstream segment is organized and operates to refine crude oil into petroleum products and the distribution and marketing of these products. The Chemical segment is organized and operates to manufacture and market hydrocarbon-based chemicals and chemical products. Imperial Oil was founded on September 8, 1880 and is headquartered in Calgary, Canada.

Rich Kruger, Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Kruger is currently chairman, president and chief executive officer of Imperial Oil Limited, a role he assumed on March 1, 2013. In 1981, Mr. Kruger started his career with Exxon in Houston, Texas, and held various technical, supervisory, and management positions throughout the United States. In 1996, he became technical manager for Exxon's engineering activities in the former Soviet Union and in 1999 was appointed vice president, Africa Deepwater, ExxonMobil Development Company. In 2001, he was appointed director and chairman of ExxonMobil's subsidiaries in Malaysia, and in 2003 was appointed vice president, Asia Pacific/Middle East, for ExxonMobil Production Company. Mr. Kruger was appointed vice president, United States, of ExxonMobil Production Company in 2005 and in 2006 was named executive vice president of ExxonMobil Production Company. He was appointed president of ExxonMobil Production Company and elected a vice president of Exxon Mobil Corporation in 2008. A native of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Mr. Kruger holds a mechanical engineering degree from the University of Minnesota and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Houston.
Paul Masschelin, Senior vice-president, finance and administration and controller
Mr. Masschelin was appointed senior vice-president, finance and administration and treasurer in May 2010. Mr. Masschelin, a native of Belgium, holds an MBA from Catholic University in Leuven, Belgium as well as undergraduate degrees in commercial engineering and actuarial sciences. He joined Exxon in Brussels, Belgium in 1980 and has held a variety of positions during his career in audit, controller’s, and treasurer’s across Exxon's chemical, upstream and corporate activities. He has held increasingly senior roles in Exxon's financial management functions globally, including assignments in Chile, Singapore and Houston. In 2001, he relocated to Rome with responsibility for the financial aspects of ExxonMobil’s downstream activities in the Mediterranean basin. In 2003, Mr. Masschelin relocated to Fairfax, Virginia to lead the company's Global Product Movements and Inventory organization, and in 2007, assumed the position of controller, ExxonMobil refining and supply and ExxonMobil research and engineering, downstream controllers.
Brian Livingston, Vice-president, general counsel and corporate secretary
Mr. Livingston has served as vice-president, general counsel and corporate secretary of Imperial Oil Limited since August 2004.
A native of Toronto, Ont., Mr. Livingston is a graduate of Queens University with a degree in mechanical engineering. In 1976, he worked as an engineer in the upstream business in Calgary, Alta., before continuing his education at the University of Toronto where he earned a bachelor of law degree. In 1981, Mr. Livingston took a two-year assignment with the federal government in Ottawa, Ont., and was called to the bar in 1982. Mr. Livingston also spent several years working with two major law firms in Toronto.
In 1985, Mr. Livingston joined Imperial Oil as a counsel in the law department. He was transferred to the treasurers department as a financial analyst in 1989 and later became manager of credit. In 1994, he commenced a three-year secondment with Exxon Corporation in Dallas, Texas, and returned to Imperial in 1997 as director of corporate tax. In 2002, he was appointed vice-president and general counsel.
