The career of Glen F. Post, III has spanned more than 30 years, and he has served as Chief Executive Officer for 19 years. In less than ten years he’s led the company from the eighth to the third largest telecommunications company in the U.S.
Post leads a highly respected management team that has transformed CenturyLink from a small, local exchange communications company into a Fortune 500 company. Under his leadership, CenturyLink is focused on delivering high-quality products and services to its customers; enhancing the communities we serve in a meaningful way; creating a dynamic work environment for employees; and achieving industry-leading, long-term shareholder value.
Post has led or been involved in all CenturyLink strategic acquisitions and divestitures for many years, guiding the company’s strategy and its operations leadership development.
His disciplined approach to strategic acquisitions and operations leadership as well as his focus on utilizing CenturyLink’s strong cash flow and financial strength to drive long-term shareholder value has positioned the company for continuing growth. The 2009 acquisition of Embarq Corporation, which more than tripled the company’s revenues and customer base, and the 2011 acquisition of Qwest, which again more than doubled CenturyLink’s size, were enabled by this approach and focus.
CenturyLink’s 2010 annual revenues were $7 billion, up from $360 million in 1992 when Post was appointed CEO. On a proforma basis for the Qwest acquisition, CenturyLink revenues would have exceeded $18 billion in 2010.
