Blackstone Group LP is a global manager of private capital and provides financial advisory services. Its alternative asset management businesses include the management of corporate private equity funds, real estate funds, funds of hedge funds, credit-oriented funds, collateralized loan obligation vehicles and separately managed accounts. Blackstone also provides a wide range of financial advisory services, including financial advisory, restructuring and reorganization and fund placement services. The company operates its business through five segments: Private Equity, Real Estate, Hedge Fund Solutions, Credit Businesses and Financial Advisory. The Private Equity segment comprises its management of private equity funds. The Real Estate segment primarily comprises its management of general real estate funds and internationally focused real estate funds. In addition, the segment has debt investment funds targeting non-controlling real estate debt-related investment opportunities in the public and private markets, primarily in the United States and Europe. The Hedge Fund Solutions segment is primarily comprised of Blackstone Alternative Asset Management, which primarily manages funds of hedge funds and includes Indian-focused and Asian-focused closed-end mutual funds. The Credit Businesses segment, which principally includes GSO, manages credit-oriented funds, CLOs, separately managed accounts and debt-focused closed-end registered investment companies. The Financial Advisory segment comprises of its financial and strategic advisory services, restructuring and reorganization advisory services and Park Hill Group, which provides fund placement services for alternative investment funds. It also provides a wide range of financial advisory services, including corporate and mergers and acquisitions advisory, restructuring and reorganization advisory and fund placement services. Blackstone was by founded by Stephen Allen Schwarzman in 1985 and is headquartered in New York, NY.
