The Systems Solutions operating segment bundles business with ICT products and solutions for large multinational corporations under the T-Systems brand. It provides fixed-network or broadband, mobile communications, Internet, and Internet protocol television products and services, and information and communication technology solutions. The company was founded on January 2, 1995 and is headquartered in Bonn, Germany.

René Obermann, Chief Executive Officer
René Obermann, born 1963 in Düsseldorf, has been Chief Executive Officer of Deutsche Telekom AG since November 2006. Since January 2012, he is also responsible for innovation in the group.
He joined the Group in 1998 as Managing Director of Sales at T-Mobile Deutschland GmbH. In 2000, he became Chief Executive Officer of T-Mobile Deutschland. As Board Member for European Operations and Group Synergies, he assumed additional responsibility at international level for the European business of T-Mobile International AG & Co. KG one year later.
From the end of 2002 to December 2006, he was CEO of T-Mobile International AG & Co. KG and the Deutsche Telekom Board Member for Mobile Communications. In this period, Deutsche Telekom continued its growth course as one of the world's leading mobile operators with more than 100 million customers, successfully introducing the brand in eleven countries.
René Obermann's career began with a business traineeship at BMW AG in Munich. Following that, he set up his own business, ABC Telekom, in Münster in 1986, which focused on marketing and providing technical service for telecommunications equipment and mobile phones.
The company was bought by the Hong-Kong conglomerate Hutchison Whampoa in 1991 and René Obermann was Managing Partner of the resulting company Hutchison Mobilfunk GmbH from 1991 onwards. From 1993 to 1998, he was Chairman of the company’s Management Board. Hutchison Mobilfunk went on to become one of the first network-independent service providers for digital mobile communications in Germany.
René Obermann has been Vice President of the German industry association BITKOM since 2007. In the 1990s, he was Chairman of the former German Association of Mobile Communication Service Providers (VAM) for two years. In May 2011, René Obermann was appointed to the Supervisory Board of the Duesseldorf-based E.ON AG. In the same year, he was selected to join the Senate of the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft.
Timotheus Höttges, Chief Financial Officer
Timotheus Höttges, born in 1962, has been member of the Board of Management of Deutsche Telekom AG responsible for Finance and Controlling since March 1, 2009.
From December 2006 until his appointment as Chief Financial Officer, he was the Group Board of Management member responsible for the T-Home unit. In this position, he was in charge of fixed-network and broadband business, as well as integrated sales and service in Germany. Under his leadership, T-Home became the market leader in terms of new DSL customers and developed its Internet TV service, Entertain, into a mass-market product while at the same time stabilizing its profitability.
After successfully implementing various cost-cutting programs at T-Home and in the European mobile communications subsidiaries, Mr. Höttges became responsible for the Group-wide Save for Service efficiency enhancement program. From 2005 until being appointed to the Group Board of Management, Mr. Höttges headed European operations as member of the Board of Management, T-Mobile International. From 2000 until the end of 2004, he was Managing Director, Finance and Controlling, before becoming Chairman of the Managing Board of T-Mobile Deutschland.
Mr. Höttges studied business administration at Cologne University, after which he spent three years with a business consulting company, latterly as a project manager. At the end of 1992, he moved to the VIAG Group in Munich. He became divisional manager in 1997 and, later, a member of the extended management board responsible for controlling, corporate planning, and mergers and acquisitions. As project manager, he played a central role in the merger of VIAG AG and VEBA AG to form E.on AG, which became effective on September 27, 2000.
Thomas Kremer, Board of Management Deutsche Telekom AG for Data Privacy, Legal
Dr. Thomas Kremer, born 1958, has been the Board of Management member responsible for Data Privacy, Legal Affairs and Compliance at Deutsche Telekom AG since June 2012.
Previously, he worked for ThyssenKrupp AG. He joined the legal department of Krupp in 1994 and took over as Head of the Legal & Compliance Corporate Center in 2003. In addition, he was made Chief Compliance Officer of the ThyssenKrupp Group in 2007 and was appointed General Counsel in 2011.
He also spent a period of time working as an attorney at Sozietät Schäfer, Wipprecht, Schickert (now CMS Hasche Sigle) in Düsseldorf. After studying law, Thomas Kremer worked as a research assistant at the University of Bonn (Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn). His areas of research included laws governing limited liability companies, stock corporations and corporate groups. He gained a doctorate in law in 1994.
