FP Newspapers Inc. operates as a holding company and holds a 49% interest in FP Canadian Newspapers LP, which owns the Winnipeg Free Press, the Brandon Sun, the Canstar Community News and The Derksen Printers businesses. The Winnipeg Free Press publishes six days a week for delivery to subscribers and single copy sales serving Winnipeg and Manitoba. On Sundays, the Winnipeg Free Press publishes a newspaper sold through single-copy retail outlets and vending boxes. The Brandon Sun publishes six days a week and the Canstar Community News publication and The Carillion in Steinbach, Manitoba publish weekly printed products. The company converted from an income trust which was originally formed in May 2002.
