Unilever NV is engaged in the production and marketing of fast moving consumer goods in the nutrition, hygiene and personal care categories. It operates through four segments: Personal Care, Foods, Refreshment and Home Care. The Personal Care segment is engaged in the providing of skincare and hair care products, deodorants and oral care products and its brands include Dove, Lux, Rexona, Sunsilk, Axe And Pond's, Radox, Duschdas, Neutral, Suave, Clear, Lifebuoy and Vaseline. The Foods segment engages in the selling of soups, bouillons, sauces, snacks, mayonnaise, salad dressings, margarines and spreads. The Refreshment segment is involves in the selling of ice cream, tea-based beverages, weight-management products and nutritionally enhanced staples sold under the brand names, including Cornetto, Magnum, Carte D'or And Solero, Walls, Kibon, Algida and Ola. The Home Care segment markets and sells home care products, such as laundry tablets, powders and liquids, soap bars and cleaning products. Unilever was founded in 1927 and is headquartered in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

Paul Polman, Chief Executive Officer
Paul earned a BBA/BA from the University of Groningen, Netherlands, in 1977 and an MBA/MA in economics and finance from the University of Cincinnati in 1979. He has honorary degrees from the Universities of Northumbria, Newcastle, UK (2000) and the University of Cincinnati, US (2009).
Paul began his career at Procter & Gamble in 1979 and was group president Europe and officer of the Procter & Gamble Company until 2006.
Prior to joining Unilever, Paul was chief financial officer of Nestlé S.A. from January 2006 as well as executive vice president for the Americas from February 2008.
Paul serves as President of the Kilimanjaro Blind Trust and Chairman of Perkins International Advisory Board. He is a member of the United Nations Global Impact Board, Vice Chairman of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, the European Round Table, a member of the International Business Council of the World Economic Forum, the Swiss American Chamber of Commerce and a Director of Conservation International. He is on the Board of the Consumer Goods Forum where he co-chairs the Board Strategy and the Sustainability Committees. He is a Trustee of both the Leverhulme Trust and Asia House, a former board member of Alcon and, since February 2010, a non-executive director of the Dow Chemical Company.
Recognised by Investor Magazine as chief financial officer of the year 2007, Paul received the Carl Lidner award from the University of Cincinnati in 2006 and was the WSJ/CNBC European Business Leader of the Year 2003.
Married with three children, Paul enjoys reading, marathon running, and mountaineering, but his main passion is for his role in running the Kilimanjaro Blind Trust.
Jean Marc Huët, Chief Financial Officer
Prior to joining Unilever, Jean-Marc held the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer roles at Bristol-Myers Squibb Company, as well as a place on the Executive Committee. Jean-Marc was also a non-executive director at Mead Johnson Nutrition in 2009.
Jean-Marc was at Bristol-Myers from early 2008, prior to which he worked at Royal Numico N.V. as Chief Financial Officer and Member of the Executive Board, from 2003. There, he helped spearhead Numico’s financial restructuring, growth and acquisition strategy.
Before joining Numico, Jean-Marc had a successful career at Goldman Sachs International. He joined the bank in 1993 as an Analyst in the Investment Banking Division, and became Executive Director of Investment Banking Services in 1999.
Jean-Marc holds an MBA from INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France, and a bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College, New Hampshire, USA. Born in 1969, he is married with three children. His passions are skiing, tennis and travel.
Harish Manwani, Chief Operating Officer
He joined Hindustan Lever (HLL) in 1976, becoming a member of the HLL board 1995 as director responsible for the Personal Products business. As category leader for Personal Products, he also held regional responsibility for the Central Asia and Middle East business group.
In 2000, he moved to the UK as senior vice president, Global Hair Care and Oral Care, and in 2001 was appointed president, Home and Personal Care, Latin America business group. He also served as chairman of Unilever’s Latin America Advisory Council.
In 2004, he was appointed president and CEO of the HPC North America business group, and in April 2005 joined the Unilever Executive as president, Asia Africa. He is also non-executive chairman of Hindustan Lever and is currently a member of the Executive Board of the Indian School of Business.
Harish is married and has two daughters. He spends his leisure time with his family and enjoys playing golf and an occasional game of bridge.
